Audio Output

Complete manual and reference for the Audio Output module.

UPDATED MAR 9, 2026

How Does It Work?#

Audio Output is the final destination for your patch. It accepts stereo or mono audio, applies final output conditioning, and sends the result to your speakers or headphones.

Quick Overview#

  • Audio Output is the main rack output module.
  • It accepts L, R, and M audio inputs.
  • The M input duplicates one mono signal to both speakers.
  • A single Gain knob trims the final output level.

Inputs And Outputs#

PortTypeWhat It Does
LAudio inputLeft program input.
RAudio inputRight program input.
MAudio inputMono program input. When patched, it is sent to both left and right outputs.

Controls Reference#

ControlRangeDefaultBehavior
Gain0..21Sets the final output level before the signal is sent to the hardware output.

Behavior Notes#

  • If M is connected, that mono signal is copied to both output channels.
  • If M is not connected, L and R are processed independently.
  • The output stage applies signal safety conditioning before playback: sanitizing invalid values, soft clipping, DC blocking, and final limiting.
  • Unconnected stereo sides stay silent rather than being auto-filled from the other side.
