Ladder Half
Complete manual and reference for the Ladder Half module.

How Does It Work?#
Ladder Half is a 2-pole ladder lowpass filter that keeps the familiar ladder response but with a more open top end and a gentler slope than the 4-pole version.
Quick Overview#
Ladder Halfis a single-input, single-output lowpass filter.- It uses the same basic control set as the full ladder modules:
Cutoff,Q, and matching CV inputs. - The cutoff range is
20 Hzto20000 Hz. - Resonance ranges from
0.707to25. - Its 2-pole response is less steep than
Ladder LPF.
Inputs And Outputs#
| Port | Type | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
In | Audio | Signal to be filtered. |
Cut | CV | Modulates cutoff frequency. |
Res | CV | Modulates resonance (Q). |
Out | Audio | Filtered lowpass output. |
Controls Reference#
| Control | Range | Default | Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
Cutoff | 20..20000 Hz | 20000 Hz | Sets the lowpass cutoff point. |
Q | 0.707..25 | 1 | Sets resonance around the cutoff. |
CV Behavior#
Cutapplies exponential cutoff modulation.Resapplies linear modulation to resonance and is clamped to the validQrange.- Parameter smoothing is built into the DSP to keep sweeps stable.
Character Notes#
- This is the lighter ladder option in the set.
- It keeps more brightness than the 4-pole ladder while still sounding recognizably analog.
- It is a good fit when
Ladder LPFfeels too heavy or too closed-in.
