Lockhart Folder

Complete manual and reference for the Lockhart Folder module.

UPDATED MAR 9, 2026

How Does It Work?#

Lockhart Folder is a hidden, experimental mono wavefolder based on the Lockhart circuit, using cascaded folding cells and a dry/wet mix to build dense harmonics from simple input shapes.

Quick Overview#

  • It is a mono processor with one input and one output.
  • Cells changes how many cascaded folding stages are active.
  • Mix blends the folded signal with the dry input.
  • Internally it uses ADAA-based processing rather than an oversampling toggle.

Inputs And Outputs#

PortTypeWhat It Does
InAudioAudio input.
OutAudioFolded output.

Controls Reference#

ControlValuesDefaultBehavior
Cells1..84Sets the number of cascaded Lockhart folding cells.
Mix0..11Blends dry and wet signal.

Behavior Notes#

  • More Cells means more cascaded folding stages and a denser harmonic result.
  • The DSP scales the signal into the cell stack, processes each cell in series, then scales it back up again.
  • The wet path is soft-clipped at the output, so high settings stay controlled instead of exploding in level.
  • This module is marked experimental and hidden in the current registry.
